____________________________ Historical Understanding   Delivered through cross-curricular topics, Historical Awareness helps our pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of their own cultural heritage, then of Britain’s present and past and finally that of the wider world and inspires their curiosity. We aim to offer pupils opportunities to explore changes within living memory; events beyond living memory that are significant personally, nationally or globally; to learn about the lives of significant individuals in the past who have contributed to national and international achievements and to explore significant historical events, people and places in their own locality
